Intermittent Fasting or Intermittent Binging?
Intermittent Fasting(IF) is all the rage. It is one of the nation’s hottest ways to lose weight. If you are not familiar with Intermittent Fasting, which I will abbreviate from now on as "IF," then let me explain.
IF is simply limiting food intake to just eight hours each day OR severely restricting calories a few days a week and eating more a few days a week.
But here’s the most important question: Is IF just another diet? Or is it truly revolutionary?
Have you ever heard the phrase that "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck."
Everything about IF just feels like a diet. And if it feels like a diet, looks like a diet, it’s probably a diet.
It’s an "ONLY DO THIS, BUT DON’T DO THIS SOLUTION."
That sounds exactly like Paleo, South Beach, Zone, Atkins, Mediterranean, etc.
And now that IF has been around for some time, here is the exactly what most people experience:
- Intense cravings
- Preoccupation with food
- Rebound binge eating
- Breaking their fast regularly
